Why does hypnosis work?

Updated: Jan 5, 2019

Hypnosis works when other methods of change don't. Hypnosis and hypnotherapy works because it acts on a deeper level than willpower. Hypnosis works because it rewires your subconscious to be in tune with your conscious desires and goals.

How many times have we said to ourselves that we want to eat healthier, go to the gym, avoid alcohol, stop gambling, be brave in the face of unjust criticism or a thousand other resolutions we've made to act in ways that move us forward as humans only to find ourselves in front of the refridgerator, or back at the casino, or lifting that bottle, or staying silent when we should speak up?

That's because our willpower depends on active thoughts. It requires us to be consciously vigilant at all times. How exhausting! One slip, or one trigger, or one stressful event that takes our focus away and old habits can slip in before we are even aware.

Hypnosis works because our subconscious is ALWAYS vigilant. Our subconsious is constantly at work informing our decisions and guiding us. If we can retrain our subconsious to help us into new habits, to make sure the subconsious agreess with our conscious decisions about what is in our own best interest than we can finally be successful in changing our lives for the better.
